A couple of weeks ago, a would-be carjacker in California struck out with three failed attempts in the same parking lot.
First, he approached a woman who responded by simply driving away. Second, he approached another woman who ran from the parking lot into the store to report the attempt. Finally, he ordered yet another woman to remove the “club” locking device from her car. She did, left her key in the car, and walked away.
When the carjacker tried to start the car, he found that she has also hit a hidden kill switch that disabled the engine and locked him in the car. He escaped by smashing a window.
